The image of an American Bison creates an icon of violence (in this case, a victim of) and western aesthetics. To create contrast, old and new elements were added to the poster by using two different type faces; one script font and one serif font.

As the poster was refined, the photo of a bison was later transformed into a sketch. The sketch fulfills two things: one, it creates an abstraction and two, relates with its intended teen audience in the form of graffiti like art. It is the combinations of these elements which result in a poster which incorporates teen preferences and targets a real need.
